Planner’s guide | Aerial cable cars explained

 

Aerial cable cars (also referred to as aerial ropeways) already present a mobility solution for our cities. They might still seem an exotic new tool in the planner’s tool box but they are already used in cities worldwide for public transport and are fully integrated components of their respective local transport networks.

This project involved the production of a design and application guide aimed at urban and transport planners and all who want to get a basic understanding of cable car technology. The information in the guide provides sufficient details to make the case for the introduction of cable cars as urban modes of transport.
